The agreement’s announced purpose is to advance digital health deployment. It places the Smart Mirror within a collaboration focused on moving a solution towards implementation in healthcare.
Why this application matters to our focus.
Health and life sciences is one of our four investment themes. We study connected care, medical technology and the tools that help providers and research teams use information more effectively. The Smart Mirror collaboration gives that focus a specific implementation context.
For us, the next set of questions concerns the care setting: who will use the solution, how it fits the workflow, how data is handled and what evidence is needed for its intended use. These are the questions that turn an announced initiative into a deployment plan.
From collaboration to evidence.
Our approach to digital health follows the same discipline as our wider technology thesis: define the application, identify the responsible team and agree what needs to be demonstrated. Product specifications, deployment milestones and measured outcomes should be assessed as they are established.
